I'm confused on this one. AI has been around for 81 years. Apple, Google, Microsoft, all of them have been using AI for a long time. You mentioned that Apple is in its first foray of AI? And we need to trust them. Those using Apple products since Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone have been using Apple AI. Your question is a good one, but I think we need to look at the record. Has Apple already earned our trust with technology? Moving into new tools within AI should follow their continued practice of data safety. For example, if they are truly doing NLP on device, that's a huge when for privacy. There has recently been frustrations with the fact that Apple isn't reporting enough child sexual predators to NCMEC. Google, Microsoft have submitted 1,000s over what Apple is submitting. I've argued this is because Apple has a strict privacy code, Microsoft and Google don't. Would love to see the data on all of this and then we can validate the trust we've already given. With that 20+ years of assumed trust, then we can decide.
